one-to-one box making tuition . . . In 2004 I moved my box making business out of its cramped London workshop and my wife and I now live in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. I have a large, well-equipped barn conversion workshop where I run the business and am now offering tuition. Techniques covered include basic construction, curved panels, drawers, lining, making decorative bandings, inlaying, book matching, french polishing, hardware, use of hand tools and machines, making jigs - in fact, all the diverse skills you'll need to make fine boxes. . . . and far more besides There is much more to do here than make boxes - we are right in the middle of Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are situated midway between Wenlock Edge and The Long Mynd - wonderful walks, excellent pubs, gliding, paragliding and many other things to do - and the historic towns of Shrewsbury, Bishop's Castle, Much Wenlock and Ludlow are all within half an hour's drive.
