When I was photographing this case, which I did at the owners home, I asked if he might have such a thing as a piece of Quantz music, possibly a facimile [he has an extensive library] to add a bit of interest and authenticity to the shot. For anyone who has dabbled even slightly with the Baroque flute will have come across the Quantz 'Versuch' or, 'Essay of a Method for Playing the Transverse Flute'. It is one of the most important treatises to come out of the Baroque era [Quantz is arrogant, dogmatic, but always informative and entertaining] - and it was an original edition of this that he put in front of me. The appallingly taken photo at the top [this is the best one!] shows what I took in an attempt to show the Versuch and the case together, failing completely to show either to any real benefit. Below shows what it really looks like, taken from another source. It was a good idea ...

I intend soon to do a standard, inexpensive 4-slot case to take any model of Baroque or early classical flute. This will be in walnut with a simple line around the lid and will accommodate a 4-joint flute with heart and foot-joints combined and one extra centre. Please email me if you would be interested in this and I will let you know when these will be available.
