Being a musician I have always been aware of the inadequate nature
of most music stands. The flimsy metal ones are fine for a seated
player but as soon as you are standing...
I used to do a fair amount of teaching [flute]
and I once had a student who was 6' tall and very short sighted.
This meant that the stand needed to be at exactly her eye level.
So, this stand got made and, as it was much admired, several more
besides. It is made from mahogany and is decorated with maple lines.
It is adjustable for height [up to 6'] and angle - the music rest
and mechanism is copied from an organ a friend of mine was restoring.
