These eggs are shown here for interest only as I don't intend
to make any more. As you may have picked up from the text
of some of the other items I do very little turning and don't
enjoy it much. Maybe if I did more of it I would get better
at it and would enjoy it more ... At one time I got very keen
at doing these eggs with rainbows inlaid into them. They need
to be laminated before turning - the main piece is first cut
at an angle, then glued back together again with about 10
layers of dyed veneers between. After turning to shape an
angled rainbow appears. The ones shown here are in yew, maple
and bubinga. They were very popular and I sold a lot - but
they really took too long to do and, as I say, I didn't enjoy
making them much!
