Ask yourself this: does that person for whom it is so difficult to find the perfect Christmas or birthday present, year after year, have any chopsticks? Really nice, wooden ones I mean, not the plain plastic ones sold by your local take-away. My guess is: no, they don't ~ so, here is the answer to your problem, for one year at least.

I have made many chopsticks in a wide variety of woods, designs and formats. After much experimentation with techniques of making these, mostly too daft to mention here, I have arrived at a quick and reliable way of machining these sticks to a fine, tapered, octagonal cross-section. They are a compromise between the fiddly, pointed Japanese sticks that no-one can use and the chunkier Chinese ones.

The sets shown here are available in a number of different formats in my gifts area - click here to go straight there. All are hand made and well finished with an impervious clear lacquer to make cleaning easy. Most are inlaid with dyed veneers or mother of pearl.
