A small domed top box, 7" x 4" x 3" in solid figured maple.

The top, front and back are decorated with dyed veneer lines in the form of luggage straps. The centre of the lid features a contrasting rosewood panel and there is a matching 'fake' escutcheon on the front. The corners are decorated with dyed veneer mitre keys.

I have no shots of the interior of this but I remember it was unlined. This lid is hinged with fine brass piano hinge and the exterior is sealed and waxed.
