I have done many boxes using this shape - a few others can be viewed on this site. This one is veneered with some lovely pale old, thick, slightly swirly mahogany veneer. I found this a few years ago and fell in love with it - it was difficult to use as it was very dry and crumbly but its natural colour and figure made it well worth the effort.

The interior features two trays in cocobolo and it is lined throughout with green velvet and moiree.

It is 13" x 9" x 5", french polished, and fitted with brass quadrant hinges and lock. The exterior is decorated with a traditional black and white line, boxwood squares, satinwood oval in the lid and a mother of pearl escutcheon.
