The harlequin design, originally derived from the costumes of the Italian Commedia Dell'Arte troupes of the C16th and C17th, has always been a favourite of mine. I have done many boxes which derive their decoration from this theme using bright colours or natural timbers and I also regularly decorate boxes using my own unique coloured lines and bandings.
