The inlaid multi-coloured wavy lines inside and outside this box have made it probably the most photographed and featured box I have ever made. David Savage commented in an article on design in the May '98 issue of 'Furniture & Cabinetmaking': "I am amazed at how detailed and intricate the work of Andrew Crawford is. Yet despite the complexity of his craftsmanship he always manages to create a complete and stylish image. Look at this for the inside of a box lid!"

This was designed as an exhibition piece and in the tradition of C18th and C19th watercolour boxes contains all an artist could require making it a fully usable artist's box.
