Once a design,
price and delivery date have been agreed I will confirm all details
in writing. I will then usually require a deposit of a quarter or
third of the total, payable with your written confirmation, followed
by one or two interim payments before the final payment on delivery/collection.
This is flexible, however, and payment is by arrangement to suit
each individual customer. I will always do my best to stick to a
delivery date, especilly if it is for a special occasion such as
a wedding or other special occasion. Typically a piece will take
between 2 and 4 months to complete depending on the complication
of the piece, the finish required and how much other work I have
on at the time. For most of the pieces I do, particularly those
veneered with highly figured burr timbers and extensive inlaid decoration,
french polish is really the only appropriate finish. This is surely
the king of finishes but it will add 3-4 weeks to the delivery time.

 If
you would like to order something, or you would just like to ask
some questions, please feel free to write, phone, fax or email without
any obligation whatever. You are welcome to visit my workshop -
and as I have said, this is the best way to start the process -
but please phone first as I am not always there. I could visit you
if necessary and you are in my general area.
Once you've
placed an order you're welcome to visit me at my workshop in south
Shropshire to view progress at any time - or I can always send you
a snapshot - often useful for deciding colour for lining or whether
a particular inlay is appropriate or necessary if this is a decision
that has been left as it sometimes is.

Please note: whatever you order it will not be quick. At the beginning
of 2008 I am quoting a minimum 12 months delivery time. Some flute
cases can be delivered sooner as the making of these is an ongoing
process.
