a wall mounting pigment case that opens out triptych style
This is a wall mounting case that opens out triptych style to reveal an extensive collection of watercolour pigments. The exterior is veneered with beautiful book-matched walnut 'crotch' and the circular section shown here is burr maple with an inlaid motif alluding to a theoretical colour wheel. The original idea had been to hand colour the small segments accordingly but when the customer saw it before the colour was added he decided that he liked it just as it was and to allow the colour of the pigments inside to speak for themselves.
